MY REAL JOB.

I think communication is probably my number one secret sauce, making sure that everybody involved in the transaction is informed. I’m not the loan officer who doesn’t answer the phone if I don’t have an answer. I’m the loan officer who answers the phone and says ‘I don’t have an answer yet, but I’m pushing. I’ll get you an answer.’ People take comfort in that.

My specialty, I would say, is first-time homebuyers. I actually teach a class to first-time homebuyers at the Bentonville Library about ten times a year. I enjoy the process and I enjoy talking about the process and educating people on the process. First time home buyers are nice. They get more out of it.

MY REAL LIFE.

My wife and I are a team. She had a high-power job in marketing operating at a very high level. But the travel became more and more for her, so she works for me now and she markets me. It’s been nice to be able to bob and weave with her on the same time.

We’ve got a lake house on Holiday Island at Table Rock Lake and we play on the lake and the rivers a lot as a family. Recently, my daughter decided she wanted to fish. Now I dream about it, it’s all I can think about. If I’m not doing loans I’m thinking about fishing, you know? I have a fishing buddy!

MY REAL STORY.

Problem-solving is one of my really strong suits; being able to figure out how to get a deal done. I like figuring out how to get people into their homes, even though everybody has challenges, everybody has situations. My goal is to help them fulfill the dream of home ownership.

We try to get deals done versus trying to figure out how to not do them. We have a breadth of programs that we can do, things you normally find in a much bigger company. I’m in a situation where I can offer a lot of different programs for a lot of different kinds of people and different situations. And the interest rates are just dynamite, we refuse to be beaten on that.
